Ladies and Gentlemen:
Bert Smith will announce
his candidacy in the 2008 race for the 5th District U S Congressional Seat at the Oklahoma County Democratic Party luncheon
at the Boulevard Cafeteria, NW 11th & Dewey in Oklahoma City on Friday, July 20th at 12:10 PM.
He will address
gathered Democrats and supporters for about 20 minutes, after which he will take questions from the media.
Mr.
Smith indicates that "our current issues are: The Iraq War, Veterans Support, Health Care, Education, and Social Security.
None of these areas of need have been significantly improved in the past four years."
"I look forward
to this event. We need leadership in Washington with real American values." Smith concluded.
All Democrats
